Individuals

I will help you address your personal concerns in a safe and nurturing environment. In addition to focusing on your stated goals for therapy, I will assist you in developing greater self-nurturing, self-understanding and an increased acceptance of self and others.

Couples Psychotherapy

In my work with couples, I help partners gain a deeper understanding of what happens within them and between them to erode blocks to healthy intimacy and satisfaction in the partnership. I see myself as a process consultant, assisting couples to better understand where they go when the emotional connection feels threatened. I use Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy, an evidence based attachment theory as my main mode of working with couples.

Recovery Support

Therapy can be a very helpful adjunct to the work of recovery from addictions, codependency and compulsive behaviors. Areas I can assist with include:

  • Learning new ways of coping
  • Establishing healthier boundaries
  • Therapy for couples in recovery
  • Relapse prevention tools
  • Understanding triggers & trauma response cycles
  • Improving relationships with self & others
  • I am Twelve Step knowledgeable & supportive

Pet Loss

For many of us, our animals hold a sacred place in our hearts, a space in which we experience the transforming grace of a totally unconditional love. When our beloved pet experiences a decline in health or dies, we may find ourselves in a level of grief and loss equal or greater than the loss of significant people in our lives.

Therapy can be a safe place to process the passing or decline of a cherished animal and all the feelings this evokes. This may include experiencing a recurrence of pain from previous losses we have endured which can create a complex grief reaction.
